Intel コンパイラの動作環境はインテルホームページより以下のようになっているが、実際には glibc は 2.5.x まで対応している。こちらで試してインストールに成功した環境は以下の通り。正常に動作することも確認済。
1: Fedore Core 6 (x86_64) : Intel Xeon 5160
Kernel 2.6.22 and glibc 2.5-18
2: CentOS 5 (x86_64) : Intel Xeon E5345 and AMD Opteron 270
Kernel 2.6.18 and glibc 2.5-12
3: Vine Linux 4.1 (x86)
Kernel 2.6.16 and glibc 2.3.4
Fedora 7 は glibc が 2.6 なのでインストール出来ない。それでも上記の環境だけでも使えれば十分だが。
